Hello Wonderful Wildcats,
We have had an exciting year so far and are looking forward to some upcoming events in the next few months before we finish off another amazing year here at Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary School. We will be off the first week in April for Spring Break (3/27-4/1). After we return, for the next couple of weeks, our 3rd - 5th grade students will be preparing for our state test which is April 20 through April 28. We look forward to seeing how much our students have grown with their academic programs. This assessment will gauge academic growth in both English Language Arts and Math for the current school year. If you have any questions as to how you can help with your student’s success with this assessment, please contact your child’s teacher.
Our attendance program at Bethune have been very successful as we just celebrated our Trimester 2 Attendance Incentive Art Party for the individual students who had perfect attendance in Trimester 2. The top two classes with the best attendance for Trimester 2: Mrs. Viek and Mrs. Akierman. Congratulations to both classes! We are also happy with our successful implementation of our Saturday STEM school where students have an opportunity to make up an absence.
We are very excited about our Family Math Night on May 4th, where our teachers will have information for your students for the upcoming school year. We want to give you resources and ways to help your student over the summer so that they have every opportunity to be successful in the next grade level. You will go to the session of your child’s next grade level and learn about math strategies and content necessary for math success in the next grade level.
Finally, we want to thank our wonderful and dedicated PTO for all their hard work and diligence making sure our Wildcats have an amazing experience here at Bethune. We also want to thank our parent volunteers who donate their time to ensure that teachers and all students are supported.
Thank you for your continued support and positive feedback as we look forward to Spring.
